Kaartik

Kaartik, the phenomenon musician, originally named as Al-Fahmi Kazi Bashar... has worked hard to be the complete musician and now plays several instruments. His principal instrument is Guitar. Though he started learning Tabla at the very beginning,the player also had been trained in Piano and violin. Besides the guitar which continues to be his passion, he likes to play Esraj,Sharinda,Dotara and several related folk instruments.

Kaartik is the youngest member of Bangla... cannot be categorized by specific genre as he takes inspiration from anything that creates sound. He has slowly come to accept and appreciate Bangla's laid back style and has even taken up the 'dotara' to the surprise of the rest of the Band members. Now, a Dotara in his hands adds a different dimension to the line-up.

His father said that he could pick up the guitar only after he finished school, and he remembers the exact date that he did it - 8th July 1997- when he started playing the guitar. He joined Bangla in 2001 and instantly won the band's heart.

Kaartik recently worked in a popular theatre group and created music for a Rabindranath Tagore's Classic " RAJA". The play named Raja Ebong Annanyo musically created new dimension in the theatre field in Bangladesh. In this play kaartik concentrated on creating expressions by both eastern and western style.

Kaartik arranged the 2008's most listened song " Ektu Boshia Thako" tuned and sung by Kanak.

Furthermore, he does a lot of music for TV serials and commercials.
