Joe Corsello
Joe attended Berklee College Of Music studying with Drummer Alan Dawson. After Berklee Joe remained in Boston playing with a Quartet led by Saxophonist Sam Rivers. Joe entered the U.S. Army and played with the 1st US Army band in Staten Island N.Y. Fellow members included trumpeter's Lew Soloff, Don Hahn, pianists Mike Garson, Tom Salsbury and Drummer Dan D'Imperial. Upon completion of the service Joe remained in the New York Area playing with various Jazz musicians including, Zoot Simms, John Bunch, Gene Bertoncini, Barry Miles, Jack Wilkins, Don Elliott, Sal Salvadore, Marian McPartland, Benny Goodman, Joe Venuti, Red Norvo, Milt Hinton, Peggy Lee and Tony Bennett.
Joe has recorded with Sonny Rollins, Marian McPartland, Jack McDuff, Benny Goodman, Barry Miles, Houston Person, Gene Bertoncini, Sal Salvadore, and New York Mary for Arista records.
Joe's recent productions include:* "The Buddy Rich Small Group Sessions" - a 7 disc boxed set with Mosaic Records - Co-producer.* CD- "The Steve Marcus Project" (Mighty Quinn Records), due for March 2007 release, Co-producer .* CD- "In the Field" (Mighty Quinn Records), featuring Carmen Leggio for release in June 2007, Co-producer.
Joe endorses Avedis Zildjian Cymbals and DW Drums. He keeps a busy travel schedule conducting clinics/concerts.
