Grgur Savic

Grgur Savic (*1983 in Zagreb, Croatia) is a Berlin based composer, soundist and improviser.

The work of Grgur Savic include different mixed sound experiments and visual media outputs. Predominantly experimental, intuitive and non-linear, creating through numerous different mediums and technologies such as graphic scoring, live performance – working largely in different electro-acoustic environments. He uses an array of different types of wind, string and electronic instruments (saxophones, clarinets, pipes, objects, no input mixing…). Grgur knows how to mediate between interactive and discipline – though more lately he explores the combination of amplified acoustic instruments and objects with main interest to closely blend or to recreate the sounds from different types of human made machines, surroundings or conditions in which a person, animal or plant lives or operates.

Grgur Savic graduated music academic studies – classical Saxophone at the University Of Performing Arts in Graz, Austria (class of Peter Straub and Gerald Preinfalk) and studied jazz improvisation at “KONSE” Kärntner State Conservatory of Music and Theatre in Klagenfurt. He mainly performs and collaborates with other artists, mostly musicians and new media creatives with a contemporary approach such as Sanja Star, Rieko Okuda, Richard Scott, Daniel Craig, Ute Wassermann, Samuel Hall, Emilio Gordoa, Ignaz Schick to name a few.
