Frances Madden
Frances’ live shows feature her own original tunes – irresistible swing, beautiful ballads and smokey blues – along with her distinctive take on timeless classics.
Frances performs around Australia at leading jazz clubs, festivals and events. Her eight-piece band features some of the country's most talented jazz musicians. Frances has supported leading international artists visiting Australia including the legendary Dionne Warwick and Grammy Award winner Gregory Porter. She has also performed internationally including the respected JZ Club in Shanghai.
Frances captivates her audiences with a combination of her genuinely warm stage presence along with a voice and style that are uniquely her own. She is a talented songwriter so when she performs her own swinging tunes and beautiful ballads, they merge seamlessly with the timeless classics she covers. As James Morrison put it: “Frances has a wonderful feeling for jazz and blues standards but what makes her a real stand-out are her original songs and unique style”.
Frances’ first studio album If This Were a Dream which includes eight original tracks and five classic covers debuted at #5 on the ARIA Jazz charts and is available on most digital platforms. She also recently released a live album taken from shows at The Basement and Foundry616 in Sydney. Both albums are available as CDs from www.francesmadden.com.
Frances undertakes selective pro bono charity work. Her recent commitments have included performances for Tour de Cure and Shine at the Opera House for Autism Awareness. Frances was recently announced as the Fine Music 102.5 FM Stefan Kruger Scholar for 2017. She is currently working her second studio album.

Frances is one of Australia's most exciting young entertainers. Each time she plays here she brings a capacity crowd into The Basement and every person in the house loves her special mix of jazz, blues and classics. Catch her in Australia before she gets taken off to the USA or Europe.
