DJ Galactic
DJ Galactic is a French guitar player and composer of Electronic jazz music. He was firstly guitar player and composer in the acid jazz band « Eclyptics » he created with JC Ivala the singer in 2001.
The band was touring mainly in Paris and its suburbs. DJ Galactic also has collaborated with many singers to create songs for movies, music album, and jingle projects. He became member of the French copyright society called SACEM in 2002 as a composer.
DJ Galactic began to produce alone his music in 2003 under its nickname Rico with a CD (5songs): this CD was a melt of rap and electronic jazz music. Then he decided to focus only on instrumental music with few voice choruses.
He released his first music album « Rebirth » in May 2005. This album contains real guitar, bass and keyboard with programmed drum loop. There are 12 songs originally created and produced by DJ Dalactic. Influenced by Saint Germain, Air, and Daft Punk, DJ Galactic creates his own universe, a melt of jazz, funk and rock music with an electronic background. Dj Galactic produced many songs: his experience with Eclyptics (funk music production) and as an Artist “Rico" (electro rap) shows a strong composer that is able to adapt to different situations by providing creative atmosphere.
Dj Galactic is facing his Rebirth, a huge turn point in his artist life, and produced his first solo album (Electronic Jazz). He has decided to focus on this specific style after many years of music experimentation. Dj Galactic has an extensive history of touring and playing live with other band like Bodyfly, and Eclyptics. He began music when he was 7 years old by learning classical music as a keyboard player.
Then he learned electric and acoustic guitar by his self: he was playing rock and funk music.
He has learned Jazz Guitar in Paris with Mr. Gerard Curbillon (A famous Jazz Guitar player). And he learned how to produce music on computer with his sound engineer friend Adrian.
DJ Galactic is struggling against himself self to find his music path: interested by many kind of music, he has to make difficult choice. In June 2005, DJ Galactic released his first album "Rebirth" (12 titles) in a style Electronic Jazz. His first solo music album is a music experience. He tried to melt Electro Music with jazz grooves. His music Album was broadcast in many local radios (in France , USA , Germany , The Netherlands ) and pod cast.In September 2006 DJ Galactic released his first video clip for the song The Night (available here in the music section of this website)
