Cort Lunde
Cort Lunde consists of Thomas Cortes (bass, sampler, etc.) and Erik Lunde (trumpet, flutes, etc.). The duo focuses on translating objects such as the plant collection Flora Danica or a modernist painting into sounds, tones, and rhythms. Cort Lunde creates musical interpretations of nature and culture through a research-based process that evolves through instrumental synergy, digital electroacoustic processing, and the use of field recordings.
The result is a semi-avant-garde jazztronica universe, where the interplay between the underlying stories about, for example, plants, molecules, or mythological creatures, combined with the music, creates a unity that helps us get to know these phenomena better.
Genre-wise, Cort Lunde is curious and combines electronic music production, contemporary improvisational music, and arrangements for classical ensembles. The sound is organic, and layers of crackling beats, electronic soundscapes, and soloistic expressions create a meditative atmosphere that simultaneously has enough variation to keep the listener's focus.

“Elegance feels like such an apt term when digesting this album – the music is exquisitely performed and composed and while it’s joy rests in the sublime, there is still so much personality in the music"
- Imran Mirza, UKvibe
“Without needing to have a taste for the avant-garde, one can simply take in the dreamlike scape as if floating several fathoms under the surface. The duo's main goal is a success: this is a blend from everywhere that's impossible to pin down anywhere.”
