Charlotte Storer

Charlotte Storer is a notable British-Cypriot Jazz vocalist recognized for her exceptional lyrical depth and luminous, rich voice that captures the essence of a bygone era. Storer has quietly built a reputation across discerning Jazz circles for her sophisticated and authentic style honoring the art forms timeless traditions.

Charlotte's unconventional pathway in Jazz began as a young teenager between border checkpoints in Nicosia - the world's last divided capital. Here in the UN Buffer Zone, Storer spent 5 years in an extraordinary Jazz peace building program Jazz Futures under the mentorship of renowned Jazz Ambassadors Chris Byars and Ari Roland as well as a host of acclaimed musicians from New York and overseas. 

Following these formative years, Storer went on to study at The Guildhall School of Music in London, where she became embedded in the London Jazz scene. During this period, she learnt at the elbow of esteemed Jazz pianist and educator Barry Harris, attending his workshops in both London and New York.

Charlotte is now established as a leading voice in the new generation of Jazz in Cyprus and has led tours in Greece, Germany and The Netherlands as well as performing at significant UK venues. 

Her debut album 'Meandering' was released on Gut String Records (NY) in 2023. Showcasing Charlotte’s full-hearted, swinging vocals the album features a stellar trio of guitarist Ofer Landsberg, bassist Uli Glassmann and legendary drummer Eric Ineke revealing a mixture of lesser-known Jazz songs and Charlotte's original lyrics to Tadd Dameron's 'Casbah' and to Charlie Parker's 1945 out-take solo 'Meandering'.

In 2024, Storer released 'Workin' on Sunday' together with Workin' Trio—a long-standing collaboration between some of Cyprus's most prominent jazz figures, Charis Ioannou, Christos Yerolatsitis, and Marios Spyrou. The EP demonstrates Charlotte's distinctive approach within the organ trio setting and spotlights a creative alliance unique to the island's musical landscape.
