De'Von Britton's unbelievable saxophone ability breathes new life into the jazz world. This experienced 20-year old from Memphis, Tennessee has skills that are mature beyond his age. His tasteful saxophone arrangements intertwining with funky, soulful grooves make his music truly unique and very impressive. De'Von has recently embarked on his solo career. Through his music, he hopes to influence people in a positive way. Although very confident in his ability on the sax, De'Von is extremely humble. He thanks God for the abilities bestowed upon him and his spirituality plays a huge part in his music. His brand of smooth jazz can best be described as emotional, heartfelt, and intimate. His debut album is set to be released sometime in the fall of 2006. De'Von intends to tour prior to its release. De'Von begins his solo career with a full resume. In the 6th grade, he played with contemporary saxophone great Kirk Whalum. He has also worked with pianist James William. De'Von has studied under many, respected Jazz educators like Sir Clyde Jones and Jack Cooper of the University of Memphis. De'Von Britton is also a graduate fo the STAX Music Academy. As the featured soloist in The South Soul Rhythm Section, a band comprised of other STAX Music Academy graduates and students, he has played such venues as Isaac Hayes', B.B. King's Place, The Memphis Orpheum, The Gibson Guitar Lounge, and also the Opera of Memphis Jazz Competition. He also appeasrs on the South Soul Rhythm Section's debut album, "M-Town."
