Billy Joe Wiseman

Billy Joe Wiseman is an undeniably talented guitarist, having gained industry recognition and a fan following for his chops as an award-winning independent performer, session guitarist for Virgin Artists, and Guitar Chair for both the Las Vegas Symphony Orchestra and Hilton Hotels.

In addition to teaching and coaching the popular female pop band Haim, Billy Joe has accompanied countless artists across the globe, including Paula Abdul, Joe Sample, Maynard Ferguson, Charo, Tony Newton, Doc Severinsen, Gladys Knight, John Klemmer, Tom Jones, Wayne Newton, Ed Shaughnessy,  Joe Williams, Louie Bellson, Brandon Fields, and slew of others. He was also a specialty session player for both Madonna and Tina Turner throughout the 1990's.

Billy Joe is professionally endorsed by Hofner Guitars, Godin Guitars, Seymour Duncan (pickups), Pedaltrain, SIT Strings, Monster (cables), and Mono Cases.

He is the lead guitarist of the neo-jazz trio Oui’3, performing in every major jazz hot spot in Los Angeles - including many at the famed Baked Potato - making a name for themselves with their inventive, melodic, and energetic music.

Billy Joe earned a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance, and went on to study with Jazz legend Phil Rizzo in Cleveland, Ohio, with whom he co-wrote the guitar book series, Piano Like Guitar.  He has also worked as a Professor of Music at the University of Nevada teaching guitar basics, jazz guitar, music theory, composition, and performance.

Between his own performances, Billy Joe teaches privately in the Akron, OH, and surrounding area, and is available for guitar clinics, specialty classes, and show bookings.

Comprising musical veterans, guitarist Billy Joe Wiseman, bassist Lou Castro and drummer/percussionist Jim Xavier, the sonically inventive and expansive, rhythmically eclectic Oui' 3 has been jamming together since 2009. Beyond creating a powerful contemporary equivalent to the heyday of jazz fusion, their titular goal is to test this era’s short attention spans via a mix of playful urban jazz funk, hypnotically sensual soul, dreamy atmospheres and blisteringly fast guitar/bass excursions. Legendary saxman John Klemmer joins the trio for the silky, mystical ballad “After Hours.” Fans of all kinds of jazz will definitely pay attention!
