Audric Jankauskas

2003 - Audric Jankauskas and Rob Lewcun collaborate to create the CD titled Spontageous , published and released by aujanmusic in January 2004 Spontageous is the name of the four piece jazz-rock group that features guitar, keyboards, bass, and drums. The sound of Spontageous can be best described as an exciting mix of styles that are reminiscent of the great artists that developed and cultivated the art-form of fusion. Never the less, the main goal was to create a musical adventure that demonstrates originality and a lyrical quality that speaks for itself. 2000 - Audric co-produced and mastered Tom Alexander's critically acclaimed solo piano CD titled What's Ahead. 1999 - Audric Jankauskas and Dave Miller release their CD project titled Sponge . This collection of musical pieces encompasses recordings of jams between the two musicians dating back as far as 1991. The music on this CD was originally recorded simply to document some creative and fun jams between Audric and Dave. The music was essentially composed on the spot while recording, and includes many great guitar solos intertwined with a unique blend of groove oriented bass lines accented by an occasional splash of complex harmonies. 1996 - On November 26, Audric did a two hour interview hosted by Michael Bailey, and broadcasted by WRTI 90.1 FM radio. The live broadcast featured three of Audric's compositions, and three tracks from the OuterLimits CD. 1996 - Through the month of December, three times per week, Audric was the featured guest on the Bob Miles World Of Guitar. This local cable TV show is known for featuring some of the world's best guitarists, and it is the only TV show like it in the world! 1996 - Audric joins forces with another great keyboardist named Pat Robinson, to form and co-produce the band OuterLimits. This band is unique in the sense that unlike most other fusion bands that feature jazz musicians that incorporate styles of music other then jazz, OuterLimits consisted of five musicians from five distinct genres of music. This fresh approach resulted in a sound that was and still is appreciated by a wide range of people, regardless of their knowledge of music. 1996 - One of the nation's most prominent jazz radio stations, WRTI 90.1 FM , released the Philadelphia Jazz Showcase CD Compilation . The thirteen tracks that make up this prestigious compilation were chosen out of several hundred entries submitted by aspiring jazz musicians from the local area.

The Jazz Session: Oh, The Places You'll Go!

Read "The Jazz Session: Oh, The Places You'll Go!" reviewed by Jason Crane

It's been quite a year for The Jazz Session, my online jazz interview show: passing 300,000 downloads (and a few thousand away from 400,000 as I write this); forming a partnership with All About Jazz; adding more episodes per week; launching Facebook and Twitter pages; and just generally taking things up a level or two. I can't write a “best episodes of the year" roundup of my own show, at least not without feeling sketchy about it, so I thought ...
