Andrei Petrache

Andrei Petrache (b. 1998) is a young Romanian pianist, composer, arranger, and conductor. A member of the Union of Composers and Musicologists of Romania, he completed his bachelor’s studies in Classical Composition and Orchestral Conducting, as well as a master’s degree in Compositional Style and Language at the National University of Music Bucharest (UNMB). He is currently continuing his activity at the same institution as a doctoral candidate and associate lecturer.

He is active as a conductor, having led the Radio Chamber Orchestra and the Philharmonic Orchestras of Brașov, Bacău, Sibiu, Satu Mare, Râmnicu Vâlcea, Pitești, among others.

As a pianist, he pursues his career in the field of jazz music, performing concerts throughout Europe, the United States, and Asia, and holding in his record over 30 prizes from national and international solo piano competitions.

In the field of composition, Andrei is the author of over 85 works in various styles (classical, modern, jazz, fusion), covering both vocal and instrumental genres as well as electronic music, while also engaging with film music and music for choreographic performance. His works have been distinguished with over 30 awards at various national and international composition competitions and have been commissioned or performed by prestigious cultural institutions (the “G. Enescu” Philharmonic in 2023, the Radio National Chamber Orchestra in 2025).
