Alicia Waller is an American vocalist, operatic soprano, songwriter, and bandleader who seeks to spread the joy of singing through inventive performances that integrate a range of diverse musical traditions.
By using performance and artistic collaboration, she looks principally to identify creative ways for musicians to facilitate intercultural understanding that transcends national, cultural, and social boundaries.
Waller received her undergraduate degree in vocal performance from the University of Maryland at College Park and graduate degree from the Gallatin School for Individualized Study at New York University. She is 2015 Finalist in the National Council of Negro Women Voice Competition and recipient of the Stringer Foundation Performing Arts Scholarship, Creative and Performing Arts Scholarship, and Léo Bronstein Homage Award.
Ms. Waller can be seen featured in a documentary short presented by SkyHour about her work and interest in music diplomacy. She released her debut E.P. Some Hidden Treasure in 2020.
