Alexander Boynton Jr

If silky smooth is your preferred musical texture, then Alexander Boynton Jr.’s got just the audio flow. An established American/Canadian smooth jazz artist, Boynton Jr. is a bassist, composer and producer who has played with some of the most well-known musicians around the world. And with his first solo album Doo Bee Doo Bop, he is primed to take listeners on a jazz-filled journey where fresh melodies lead to intimate connections. Born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Boynton Jr. spent his formative years moving church-goers in Los Angeles to the spirit of gospel music before migrating to Vancouver’s milder climes and joining forces with iconic Canadian rocker and producer Bob Rock and The Payola$ in the 1980s. He has opened for the likes of Bryan Adams, Super Tramp and Duran Duran, but has never lost his R&B gospel roots, infusing his music with the sounds that shaped his soul. On Doo Bee Doo Bop, Boynton Jr. is joined by a talented team including producer Jeff Lorber, who brought in the likes of Paul Jackson Junior, Tony Maiden (Rufus), Rick Braun, Phil Perry, Jeff Golub, Michael Thompson, Tony Moore and Lenny Castro. Lead by Boynton Jr.’s smooth grooves and melodic bass, the ensemble pulls together an experience you’ll be sure to keep on repeat all night long to the early morn.
