My Jazz Story

I was first exposed to jazz as a child through my parents' record collection. My mother and father were born in 1926 and 1919 respectively. Their collection when I was born had Nat King Cole, Sarah Vaughn, Nancy Wilson, Billy Eckstein, Joe Williams, Frank Sinatra.... and that's just what I remember. They also took me to see musicals at the Coconut Grove Playhouse every year. "Ain't Misbehavin'" and "Sophisticated Ladies" stand out.

My House Concert Story

My wife(girlfriend at the time) went to see James Moody at Coral Gables Congregational Church in 2001. Arturo Sandoval was in the audience and conveniently had his trumpet with him. They definitely gave the audience more than we bargained for.
