About Me

Alex Otey is an award-winning pianist, singer, trumpeter and composer/arranger who has performed at Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall in NYC, and received a master's in Music Business from Berklee College of Music.

An award-winning pianist, singer, trumpeter, and composer/arranger, Otey has performed with prominent jazz musicians and recorded alongside legends like Grover Washington Jr. and Richie Cole. He arranged, performed on, and produced a GRAMMY® Nominated album and contributed to another nominated project, as well as a GRAMMY® Winning collaboration. Performing throughout Philadelphia, Central NJ, and beyond, he has graced venues such as the River House at Odette’s, the King George Inn, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, World Café Live, and Harrah’s Casino. Highlights of his career include performing at the White House Egg Roll event with Miss Amy, appearances at Bethlehem Musikfest, Lincoln Center, and Carnegie Hall. In addition to his live performances, Otey hosts The Trenton Jazz Show on WWFM JazzOn2 and holds a master’s degree in Music Business from Berklee College of Music.

My Jazz Story

I love the expressiveness of jazz. I'm a pianist, singer, trumpeter, composer/arranger, producer and recording engineer. I've performed with a number of prominent jazz musicians and recorded with Grover Washington Jr. and Richie Cole. I'm a participant on a GRAMMY® Winning and on two GRAMMY® Nominated projects as a contributing artist, producer and arranger, I perform regularly as a Jazz Piano-Vocalist, and hosts The Trenton Jazz Show aired on WWFM JazzOn2 89.1 HD2.

My House Concert Story

It's great to meet music enthusiasts when I perform. It's a shared experience of music that I look forward to every time! Alex Otey Trio is a Popular-Jazz vocal piano style group that performs a wide range of music, from Swing era-to-current day standards and original works. This includes songs performed by Frank Sinatra, The Beatles, Billy Joel, Green Day and many others. The trio has performed at venues such as: The Bitter End and B.B. King Blues Club in New York City, Harrah’s Casino in Philadelphia, and Caesars Casino in Atlantic City.
