Last month, Turkish musical polymath Mehmet Ali Sanlıkol released 'An Elegant Ritual'. Known primarily for ambitious large ensemble works, the adventurous pianist pares down to a trio this time around, and often augments the material with rich vocal stylings. Such is the case on the album's first full-length track, "The 7th Day", accompanied here by a warm-hearted video. Featuring Sanlıkol's emotive scat singing and dazzling musical interplay, "The 7th Day" is one of the brightest moments on An Elegant Ritual.
