Love's Been Good To Me

Rod McKuen
Duration: 4:07
1,980 views

Rod McKuen is the only person to write an entire album for Frank Sinatra, A Man Alone (Reprise, 1969). This hit, with a slower beat, is made for a jazz soloist (and not just Sinatra). McKuen even hits a low note at the final pause, sax-like. In the '70s, McKuen demanded mixed black and white seating at his shows, with the result that singers like Sammy Davis, Jnr and Ella Fitzgerald followed him there. He shares his birthday with Duke Ellington, April 29th.
