Hudson City was a small municipality adjacent to Jersey City,NJ before it was annexed in the 1850's. Despite a century and a half of assimilation and urban decay, some vestiges of the original small pre-Victorian town remain. Most of the distinctive Civil War-era urban architecture has vanished, but the vibe is still there-Hudson City lives on in the collective memories of the locals.
