About the Album

He's covered everyone from ABBA to Swedish folk songs, but for The Moon, The Stars And You, Swedish trombonist/vocalist Nils Landgren gets back to basics with a ballad album and a core group that includes pianist Michael Wollny, bassist Lars Danielsson and drumer Rasmus Kihlberg, in addition to guests Joe Sample, Steve Gadd, Richard Galliano and the NDR Big Band and Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra. A mix of standards and originals, the title track, co-written with Wollny, is a sentimental but never saccharine look at Landgren's softer side.
