About the Album
As bass legend Leland Sklar said after listening to the record, the music on Haavisto's album harkens back to the best jazz fusion records of the 70s. Opus nr.8 is a catchy composition with space for skillful playing and the energy of young virtuosos. The joint groove of the drums and bass is irresistibly aggressive and the melody is sprinkled while the structure remains open.In solos, the structure becomes even more open and each player can improvise to their heart's content.
