About the Album
“Numbers” is an original tune that features the Fender Rhodes trading solo phrases with the flute. The accompaniment and melody fragments fit together like a puzzle. The rhythm section’s pattern is written using composer Guillermo Klein’s ‘clave’, rhythmic pattern of 7+5, written in ¾, which he uses in many of his compositions, and the flute melody line is an homage to Kurt Rosenwinkel, whose melodic concept and playing I really admire.
