About the Album

In the DNA of the song "NESSUNO", the eMPathia Jazz Duo acknowledge the influence of the American big band sound of Count Basie on a path to Rhythm and Blues. From this influence came the idea of simulating the horns in duo in this explosive arrangement underlining the vocal range of Mafalda Minnozzi with the energetic give and take that highlights the synergy between the voice and guitar. The lyrics to "NESSUNO" were written in 1959 by Antonietta De Simone and Edilio Capotosti together with Vittorio Mascheroni who composed the music. In 1959 the singer Wilma De Angelis presented this song at the "Festival of San Remo" but it was the recorded version by Mina that brought the song to the top of the charts for its innovative spirit that was so close to Rock.
