About the Album

This is the first single from Gaute Storsve Trio’s upcoming album “El gran Gotzilla”. The title means “Nothing? Never!” and introduces the trio and the three guest musicians who participate on the album. The title alludes to the slightly hectic nature of the track and the fact that all six instruments play leading parts, sometimes simultaneously. This is Nordic jazz merged with Cuban music. Storsve lived and worked in Havana where he befriended the percussionist Angel Terry Domech. Terry is an incredibly experienced percussionist who has played with a multitude of Cuban musicians like Buena Vista Social Club with whom he toured and recorded for several years. On “¿Nada? ¡Nunca!” Terry plays the traditional West African drums batá. The two other guest musicians are the amazing improvisation musician Jørgen Mathisen best known from Krokofant and the very talented violinist Ingrid Berg Mehus.
