About the Album
Level up is a modern organ jazz funk tune featuring organ, guitar and drums. The focus is on groove and texture, while also bringing interesting harmonic motion. The approach for the song is reflective of groove based organ jazz artists such as Medeski, Martin & Wood and Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio, while also taking in a healthy dose of electro groove artists such as Daft Punk and Stereolab. This is the latest development from Brian Felix, the former OM Trio keyboardist who has toured widely with that group and others over the years. This is the first single from a full length album, also called Level Up, released Feb. 21, 2025.
