"Lay It Back" is the lead track off of The Adam Deitch Quartet's sophomore LP Roll The Tape, released on Deitch's imprint Golden Wolf Records. With clear lineage taking notes from greats like Eddie Harris and Maceo Parker, Roll The Tape begins with Wil Blades taking the lead on organ and features slick horn work by Eric "Benny" Bloom on trumpet and Ryan Zoidis on saxophone cemented together by Deitch's groove and compositional prowess.
