About the Album

Over 14 years, the cooperative quartet Kaze has defined the cutting edge with music that is as funny as it is wild. Now Japanese composer-pianist Satoko Fujii and trumpeter Natsuki Tamura, French trumpeter Christian Pruvost and drummer Peter Orins have released their most jaw-dropping record to date, and they’re joined by the simpatico vocalist Koichi Makigami.

The third and final track, the Tamura composition “Inspiration 2,” begins with the group remembers recreating the sounds of birds and other nature sounds with remarkable precision. As the instruments slowly creep in Makigami provides an out of this world vocal explosion that is matched by the magical intensity of Fujii’s playing.
