About the Album

Los Angeles-based saxophonist David Sills returns with his 3rd recording for Origin, a swinging sextet session featuring some of LA's finest including Gary Foster, Larry Koonse and Putter Smith. From cool, melodic originals like "Summer Cloud" and the title cut to interesting standards such as "Moon and Sand," and the classic "Prelude to a Kiss," Sills creates "...imaginative, engaging, timeless jazz at its finest." (Don Heckman, Los Angeles Times) A life-long surfer, Sills combines his love of Southern California's jazz and beach scenes with his dedication to environmental causes - a portion of proceeds from "Green" will go to the Sierra Club.
