Fiona's Comments

Honor fallen heros by not falling, saves on womb wastage AND brain drain. Those girls aren't deforming themselves for nothing. #gobeyondmusic #firsttherewereheroines

About the Album

The album's title comes from Lincoln's Gettysburg Address, in which the President urged Americans to honor fallen heroes by furthering their unfinished work. Hadro extended that sentiment to his music, explaining: "This is my dedication to the musical giants upon whose shoulders I stand. Rather than re-interpret and re-perform their works, I want to extend the timeline of jazz with new compositions and performances by the best living composers and musicians today." All songs on the album were written by living American composers.

The band includes:

Andrew Hadro: baritone saxophone & flute;

Daniel Foose: double bass;

Carmen Staaf: grand piano;

Matt Wilson: drums & cymbals.
