About the Album

Naftule's Dream, whose seminal recordings in the 1990's helped create the Radical Jewish Culture movement and jumpstart John Zorn's Tzadik label, has released its first new recording since 2002. The title track, "Blood," was inspired by the I.B. Singer short story of the same name, and merges a Jewish khosidl with a slow-burn rock groove. Eric Rosenthal: drums; Jim Gray: tuba, sousaphone; Michael McLaughlin: accordion; Andrew Stern: guitar; Glenn Dickson: clarinet; Gary Bohan: cornetist.
