Fiona's Comments

Huh, well this is a nifty little tune. Yes, there's plenty of free improv/avant-garde going on here, but the duo have concentrated all of the different elements into a tight space, making it easy to take in all the tune's complexities at once. Very cool track.

About the Album

"Area 51" is a duo improvisation with Phil Grenadier (trumpet) and Bruno Raberg (acoustic bass). We recorded an improvisation and then overdubbed another reacting to the first one. The original acoustic sounds have been manipulated sonically to create an exciting contrasting soundscapes.
