Drummer Bob Moses has been a ground-breaker in jazz for about thirty-five years. After gigging around New York as a vibraphonist in his teens, he formed the electric free-jazz group Free Spirits with guitarist Larry Coryell and Native American tenorist Jim Pepper. I hope I’m still alive in the year 2026. Like last year with Duke Ellington and this year honoring the 100th anniversary of Louis Armstrong’s birth, 2026 with mark John Coltrane’s centenary.
