Cliff Beach, the acclaimed LA-based recording artist, is set to release a new album paying tribute to the Great American Songbook, inspired by the legendary Ella Fitzgerald. "You Showed Me The Way" features 12 covers of classic songs and one original composition, showcasing Beach's soulful jazz tinged vocals and his band's exceptional musicianship. The track listing includes timeless tunes like "That Old Black Magic", "Round Midnight", "Love You Madly", "How Long Has This Been Going On?", "Alright, Ok, You Win", "Honeysuckle Rose", "How High the Moon", "Spring Can Really Hang You Up the Most", "I'm Beginning to See the Light", "It's Alright with Me", "You Showed Me the Way", and "A-Tisket, A-Tasket" (featuring songs by writers Ella Fitzgerald, Chick Webb, Duke Ellington, Cole Porter, Fats Waller, George & Ira Gershwin, Thelonious Monk, Harold Arlen & Johnny Mercer). In addition, the album includes an original song titled "The Gift of the Blues" by Beach. The arrangements on the album were created by Berklee alum Munenori “Moon” Kischi, with additional arrangements by Cliff Beach, giving these classic songs a fresh and modern twist while staying true to their original essence. The album was produced by Cliff Beach and recorded at Moosecat Recording in Los Angeles, CA, engineered by seasoned industry veteran Mike Post. The album's mixing and mastering was done at 1192 Studios in Westlake Village, CA by Tim Hall. "You Showed Me The Way" is a celebration of the rich musical heritage of the Great American Songbook and the legacy of Ella Fitzgerald. Cliff Beach's versatile vocals and his band's virtuosic musicality bring new life to these classic tunes, creating an album that is sure to delight both jazz aficionados and music lovers alike.
