A four track EP inspired by Valentine's Day, but it's not what you think! On a day for lovers brimming with flowers, chocolates and love notes.. these songs, a little tongue-in-cheek, a little acerbic, are for the singletons, the spurned and the 'bah humbugs' among us. These 'comedy' songs about the banality of love (Blah,Blah,Blah); infidelity (Goody Goodbye), dating requirements (Romance without Finance) and solitude (Please Don't Bug Me) are a cool drink of water. Recorded in August 2022 on Hetty's first tour of Australia in three years, this EP features Melbourne based musicians Mark Fitzgibbon on piano, Sam Lemann on Guitar and Ben Hanlon on Double Bass. This EP showcases the range of Hetty's voice from clarity and purity in duo with bass on 'Blah, Blah, Blah' to a Judy Garland treat with 'Goody Goodbye'. Charlie Parker's 'Romance without Finance' swings along and the sucker punch is delivered with an interpretation of the swingin' 'Please Don't Bug Me' by infamous trombonist Frank Rosolino.
