RELEASE DATE: May 15, 2023. The songs I wrote on this album were my first I've ever written. CHOOSING JOY is about making the choice to silence the noise and chaos that keeps us from finding true joy in our lives. THE DAY I SAW YOU is about opening oneself to love, and ALL THE YEARS is a song for those navigating a life alone after losing a spouse. The three covers are simply songs that have meant a great deal to me over the years. THE FANTASTICKS is my favorite musical and SOON IT'S GONNA RAIN is a song about hope and the promise of the future. Stephen Sondheim is my favorite musical theatre composer and I wanted to sing PRETTY WOMEN to celebrate all the women I know that are wonderful in every way..many of whom helped me navigate this new phase of my life...and Alfie...well Burt Bacharach provided the soundtrack to my life. I have been obsessed with this song since I was young and just had to record it. As the song says, "without love we just exist." In it's entirety, this is an album about finding one's own joy and embracing life and love in all its phases
