Album Description

On a cold January day in 2026, we travelled to Iceland to record this album at the legendary Sundlaugin Studio in the outskirts of Reykjavík. Darkness greeted us immediately, and it shrouded us from daylight throughout our entire stay. We shut ourselves inside the studio and worked from dawn until late at night.

We became absorbed in the atmosphere and the instruments surrounding us. Knowing that the studio had housed thousands of sessions, sounds, and memories channeled through music was deeply inspiring.

Located in the historic building of a hundred-year-old swimming pool, the studio famously served as a rehearsal space and recording studio for the iconic band Sigur Rós.

The rooms were filled with instruments: countless keyboards, an entire room dedicated to guitars, a mellotron, various drums, bass and guitar amplifiers — everything imaginable.

A laboratory for sound. We had written the music before arriving. Some pieces existed only as sketches, while others were arranged and fully formed. At the same time, we had invited three Icelandic musicians from the band ADHD to come and blend their sound with ours.Two bands. Two families meeting to create music together. We always knew the collaboration would work. But we could never have imagined another band playing our music with such character, presence, and respect as we experienced here.

The album came to carry the name Island.
