Album Description

On December 5th, 2025, composer and guitarist Tristan Gianola releases his next full-length album Hymn, on Lantern Light Records and all streaming platforms. His seventh full-length album since 2020 features a trio of New Orleans musicians performing Gianola’s compositions and arrangements of orchestral and jazz classics. Joined by Chris Beroes-Haigis on cello and Jake Gartenstein on drums, Hymn evokes Gianola’s unique palette of instrumental jazz. Drawing influences from his favorite artists in Scandinavian jazz, contemporary classical music and open-ended improvisation, the trio creates a sonic world both serene and thunderous. The album was recorded shortly before Gianola relocated to Maine after spending eight years living and performing in New Orleans.
