Album Description
Homesteaders is trumpeter Dave Mossing’s debut release on Bent River Records. It is an introspective collection of his tunes inspired by the homestead and community of his ancestors that first arrived in Saskatchewan, Canada. The main work on the album is the ‘Homesteaders Suite’, which through Mossing’s compositions and the bands improvised interludes paints a picture of not only his family’s arrival and settling of their land but of their role in their community.
