On his debut album, Faking It, Manchester-based guitarist Jimmy Beedham explores the space between jazz, funk and rock, blending exciting composition with adventurous musicianship and the unmistakable sound of musicians having fun.
Jimmy is a guitarist & songwriter from Manchester, UK and has been playing professionally since his teens.
Although billed as a solo album, this record is all about the interplay and personality of the players. The project focuses on performances captured live in the studio, featuring a stellar cast of musicians including Neil Fairclough (Queen + Adam Lambert), John Dagnall, Neil Edwards (The Deccan Traps) and Stu Fagan (Meinl & British Drum Company Artist) amongst others.
Opening with a bebop-funk crossover, the eight tracks travel through an eclectic fusion of styles that reward attentive listening.
Each track on Side One flows into the next, inviting listeners to experience the album as a complete journey, rather than a collection of individual songs.
Side Two introduces saxophonist Anthony Brown, whose arrival broadens the album’s sonic palette, while drummer Stu Fagan brings his own unmistakable style and personality to a funky blues (Don’t Get Caught) and a fusion odyssey (No Picnic).
The album finishes with Jimmy reuniting with his alpine bandmates, Pink Miami, and features backing vocals from the Queen + Adam Lambert/The Deccan Traps players featured on Side One.
Adjacent To Paradise is, lyrically, a tongue in cheek ode to life on the road with the band. Spending the summer months on the Côte D’Azure and winters in the French Alps. Featuring the musicians who shared the journey. Musically it’s a heady mix of 80s Cock/Yacht Rock, retaining the jazz harmony and musicianship present throughout the album. Think The Darkness, mixed with 10cc, Steely Dan and Zappa.
Faking It is scheduled for release on limited edition gatefold vinyl in November 2026.
The lead single will be available to stream everywhere from 31st July.
