Album Description

The album is based on a simple idea: live music is fleeting. Like a wake in the water, it appears, unfolds in the moment, and vanishes. And that is precisely what it seeks to capture: the uniqueness of the performance in that specific moment, with the spontaneity, warmth and rawness of a live recording in a jazz club.

Through a complete repertoire of original music by Pereira, the quintet leaves its mark and musicality across the seven tracks that make up the album, which combines different approaches within jazz: from more defined structures such as swing or the blues, to other more open spaces. There are also influences from bossa nova, funk, ballads and moments of free improvisation, with a subtle presence of Mediterranean elements.

Estelas thus functions as a direct and honest record of the group: a recording that reflects their current sound and their way of working live. Always in search of an open and lyrical sound.
