Album Description
Dziesmai šodien jauna diena - A new day for a song Today, a personal musical statement exploring the meeting point between the improvisational freedom of jazz and the rich tradition of Latvian choral music. Bringing together jazz elements and quotations from Latvian choral repertoire, the album reflects Liga’s diverse musical background and evolving artistic identity, shaped by experiences across classical and jazz music. Rather than simply referencing familiar musical traditions, the choral fragments become material for reinterpretation, opening up space for improvisation, personal expression and new musical perspectives. Hidden among the choral references is also a quotation from the world of jazz.
