BEST JAZZ ALBUM 2012 finalist Phil Broadhurst’s Delayed Reaction was inspired by the life and work of the great French pianist, Michel Petrucciani. Phil is one of New Zealand’s finest and most revered jazz pianists and composers. For the last number of years (since the release of his previous album, The Road Home), Phil has studied Petrucciani’s music, and Delayed Reaction features five Broadhurst compositions inspired by the French master, and five pieces penned by Petrucciani which Phil and his superb quartet have reinterpreted.
