This is the debut album from the Norwegian band Luna Horns, Afro Space Hotel, released on Saftig Records. Based in Oslo,Luna Horns are a band where playfulness, improvisation, and irreverent humor are defining features. A band where beautiful three-part harmonies are followed by energetic and spontaneous improvisations, all driven by a solid rhythm section that crafts playful, funky beats. Drawing inspiration from jazz, soul, reggae, Latin, and electronica—but belonging to none of these genres — Luna Horns’ music defies simple categorisation. Since forming in autumn 2023, Luna Horns have performed to packed houses at venues in Oslo such as Melahuset, Cafeteateret, Revolver, Hør Hør, Jakob Church, Cosmopolite and Kafe Hærverk. Each show has been met with enthusiastic audiences and electric atmospheres. The band's debut album Afro Space Hotel has been released on Saftig Records and is available on all major digital platforms. In addition a vinyl release is available for purchase on the band's Bandcamp site (https://saftigrecords.bandcamp.com/album/afro-space-hotel) Early reviews of the album have been positive, with British radio show Cosmic Jazz describing it as having "a touch of early Sun Ra, a bit of Lloyd McNeill and a feeling of Mulatu Astatke" and Norwegian journalist Eli Tenga calling the music "“quick-witted, cheeky and bold”. A single Cuidaito from the album was released in autumn 2024 and received extensive airplay, including regular rotation on NRK Jazz throughout the summer of 2025. The album was recorded, mixed and mastered in 3 live sessions with renowned Norwegian electronica producer Bjørn Harald Lund Bø at his studio out in the Norwegian countryside.
