About this image

A coalition of Philadelphia jazz organizations including representatives from WRTI 90.1 FM, Temple Performing Arts Center, Philadelphia Jazz Project, Jazz Lives Philadelphia, SOUTH Jazz Kitchen and All About Jazz & Jazz Near You are hosting the first annual Jazz Industry Day at Temple Performing Arts Center on Thursday, September 13th from 11:00am to 6:30pm with an after party scheduled at SOUTH Jazz Kitchen following the conference. The one-day conference will represent a gathering place for musicians, industry professionals, and educators to learn, network, exchange ideas, discover local resources, and celebrate two living legends of Philadelphia Jazz: saxophonists Bootsie Barnes and Larry McKenna. The day's events will include a meet the experts / round-table session (noon to 2:00pm), a networking event (2:00pm to 4:00pm) as well as a performance & awards ceremony (4:30pm to 6:30pm). This first event of its kind in Philadelphia, our hope is to bring the entire jazz community together in one place to help expand professional networks, learn from experts & develop professional skills, foster business collaborations, raise awareness of resources, all with the continued goal of building a more cohesive jazz community that's beneficial to all.
