New Orleans guitarist Jimmy Robinson is touring in support of his critically acclaimed solo, acoustic CD Vibrating Strings

Mr Robinson formed the New Orleans long-running (1975-2009) fusion band Woodenhead, is a member of the New Orleans guitar all-star group Twangorama, with harp guitarist Phil deGruy and veteran player Cranston Clements.

After cutting his musical teeth with rock bands, Mr Robinson studied classical guitar and composition at Loyola College Of Music in New Orleans, and at The Eastman School Of Music in Rochester, New York.

Jimmy has appeared in concert with Bela Fleck And The Flecktones, Jeff Beck, Chick Corea's Elektrik Band, John McLaughlin and Mahavishnu, Allen Holdsworth, Steve Morse, Adrian Belew, The Dixie Dregs, The Neville Brothers, Billy Cobham, Dave Mason, Bill Bruford and Patrick Moraz, Hugh Masekela, Dave Brubeck, McCoy Tyner and others. Woodenhead has appeared at The New Orleans Jazz Festival over 25 times and at Progday, The Encuentro Jazz festival in Guatemala. The Can Cun Jazz Fest, and INGUITAR in Switzerland. Jimmy also performs with New Orleans guitar all-stars Twangorama, and The Susan Cowsill Band.
