Vocal Jazz Jam II

The CNY Jazz Arts Foundation announces an upcoming Scholastic Vocal Jazz Jam which will take place on Saturday, April 29, 2006, from 1-5pm; $3 with student ID, $6 for all others; held at their new downtown arts and education center, Jazz Central, 441 E. Washington Street, Syracuse. The event ends with a “Stars of Tomorrow" Cabaret which starts at 7:30pm and features outstanding vocalists from the afternoon's Vocal Jazz Jam; $5 with Student ID and $10 for all others. Refreshments, including finger foods, will be served at the lobby bar.

The Vocal Jazz Jam offers a venue for aspiring Jazz vocalists can perform songs of their choice with professional accompaniment. Professional coach Hanna Richardson will also be on hand for the afternoon to work with each vocalist in a friendly, supportive, master-class environment.

Starting at 7:30pm, outstanding vocalists from the afternoon's Vocal Jam will be invited to perform in an elegant “Stars of Tomorrow" cabaret with the CNY Jazz Trio.

“Students of all experience levels are invited to join us for our jazz jams," according to Larry Luttinger, Executive Director. “We're serious about giving budding jazz vocalists the opportunity to jam with professionals."
