Victor Little, Lauded Session Bassist/Composer, Riding a Wave of International Recognition

July 24, 2009, San Francisco, California - Victor Little, one of the Bay Area's most lauded musical residents, wrapped his CD Release Party at Yoshi's San Francisco, Monday, June 29th, after two encores, to a standing ovation from the sold out house. 14 friends and fellow musicians who helped him create his debut tour de force CD, Inner Portrait, joined him onstage for the rousing, star-studded performance, including eleven-time Grammy winner, Santana lead vocalist, songwriter and producer, Tony Lindsay. Victor, whose bona fides include over 20-years as the consummate “first call bassist" laying down the low-end foundation for legends Patti Austin, Billy Preston, Joyce Cooling, and Booker T. Jones, continues to ride a wave of regional and national recognition since Inner Portrait was released in April. From all appearances, it's going to be a long and exhilarating ride for the Brentwood, California resident.

Bass guitar enthusiast websites and publications, such as Bass Player magazine, have lead the way in showering praise on the bass guitar-centric Inner Portrait and Victor's prodigal playing and songwriting skills, with Bass-Musician-Magazine.com stating, “One of the Bay Area's finest playing with some of the world's finest," and the star-studded Inner Portrait “an incredible disc," and “a solid product that grooves hard and is like sonic ear candy." Victor is also expected to be featured in the ultra-glossy Bass Guitar magazine, the United Kingdom's leading authority on the instrument and its players, in the not-too-distant future (www.bassguitarmagazine.com). Bay Area mainstream lifestyle publications have lauded the man, as well, with East Bay lifestyle publication 110 Degrees magazine (www.110mag.com) featuring Victor in a sprawling four-page article. The San Francisco Examiner also heaped glowing admiration on the man and his music.

While Inner Portrait continues to gain radio airplay in major markets, including Hartford, CT, and Austin and Houston, TX, as well as from the top streaming radio stations, such as GrooveJazzMusic.com, and SmoothJazz.com, Victor and his band are planning to tour from Seattle to San Diego in the fall of 2009. Music aficionados who relish Victor's original, innovative, and exhilarating instrumental and hook-laden funky-fusion, rhythm and blues groove-jazz will appreciate his impeccable timing, taste, technique, and tone, inimitably sophisticated soaring soloing skills, and captivating melodies. His performances are not to be missed. Until he comes to your town, lucky San Francisco Bay Area residents can check out Victor Little with local favorites, such as Joyce Cooling and other local greats.

Inner Portrait can be purchased at fine retail stores and chains everywhere, and online at iTunes.com and Amazon.com.
