Victor L. Goines, one of the leading reed players in the jazz world, is an integral member of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra and the Wynton Marsalis Septet since 1993; touring worldwide and performing on more than 20 releases with these legendary ensembles. He is also an acclaimed solo artist, leading his own quartet and quintet with whom he has made 7 recordings, and a gifted composer of more than 50 original works and a number of commissions. A renowned educator throughout his career, Goines was named director of jazz studies and professor of music at Northwestern University in late 2007. Prior to that, he was artistic director of the jazz program at the Juilliard School for 7 years and a faculty member in jazz clarinet and saxophone. The musicians he has chosen are outstanding. You won't want to miss this exceptional, exciting concert.
