Turtle Bay Records, the vibrant jazz label known for discovering and showcasing some of the best jazz artists in NYC, has launched an exciting new video series called On the Back Porch. This series takes you behind the scenes and into the world of the most dynamic performers on the jazz scene today. The label has released the second installment of the series, featuring the incredible blues and Americana singer, Queen Esther.

Hailing from Atlanta, GA and Charleston, SC, Queen Esther brings her unique blend of musical influences to the On the Back Porch co-hosts Sweet Megg and Ricky Alexander. In this exclusive interview and acoustic performance, Queen Esther shares stories from her early years in music, including her time in a successful Texas cover band, and her experiences touring with jazz guitar icon James “Blood" Ulmer after moving to NYC.

Known as “the unknown queen of Americana" (Feedback, Norway) and praised by Vanity Fair Spain as “a brutal, original, explosive singer," Queen Esther has been wowing audiences for decades. And with new albums constantly in the works, she shows no signs of slowing down.
