Toronto Downtown Jazz is planning to heat up the city in February with their first TORONTO DOWNTOWN JAZZ PARTY! Taking place in the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel, this intimate, freewheeling weekend will feature over a dozen jazz musicians playing mix & match in a series of informal jam sessions.
Jim Galloway, Toronto Downtown Jazz Party Artistic Director, is bringing together these outstanding musicians with a common musical vocabulary to give Toronto audiences the opportunity to listen to and interact with some of their favourite musicians in the relaxed and casual setting of a jazz party. The jazz party was first conceived in 1963 with a weekend in Aspen, and has since spread to numerous other cities creating a network of parties spread across the U.S.
Confirmed to appear in Toronto are veterans of the jazz party circuit: Harry Allen on tenor sax,
