Originally from Kfar Saba, Israel, bassist and composer Daniel Ori is a prominent young voice in the New York contemporary Jazz scene. An ASCAP composers award winner, Daniel released his debut album, So It Goes in late 2009. Ori introduces a fresh mix of modern jazz with a World flavor, drawing influences from Middle Eastern, African and Latin roots. Daniel Ori Quintet will be performing newly written compositions, soon to be released on Ori's next album. “Daniel's music will move you . . . Drummer/composer Jeff Davis is known as the “propulsive force" behind a host of New York mainstays, including bassist Michael Bates, multi-reedist Oscar Noriega, pianists Jesse Stacken and Landon Knoblock. Marc Mommaas, tenor saxophone; Nikolaj Hess, piano; Tony Moreno, drums; Jay Anderson, bass. Global Motion, founded in 1997 in New York City by Dutch tenor saxophonist Marc Mommaas and Danish pianist Nikolaj Hess, has become a major force in todays music scene. Together they have co-lead Global Motion through the years touring Europe, the U.S., Canadan and Scandinavia with their various projects. Global Motion includes a stellar rhythm-section, Tony Moreno on drums and Jay Anderson on bass. GMplus, released in the fall of 2009 featuring compositions of Nikolaj Hess, includes special guests Ben Monder (electrical/acoustic guitar) and Jeff Ballard (percussion). and got nominated best album release of 2010 in Denmark. Global motion is part of the cutting edge jazz scene of New York City, portraying a fluid and dynamic sound brought forward by four world class musicians. The music has a fast pacing, energetic, strong and poetic power. Be ready for an unforgettable journey through a landscape of sounds and colors.

MATTHEW BREWER QUINTET
This band is a newly formed collective comprised of Matt Brewer-bass, Will Vinson-alto, Lage Lund-guitar, Marcus Gilmore-drums, and Aaron Parks-piano. Each member focuses heavily on composition, and contributes pieces and ideas that bring diversity, and balance to the music's totality. All of the musicians in this collective have a long history of playing together, but this is among the first instances that they come together as a band. Matt Brewer has been playing bass since the age of ten, and began his professional career at twelve, playing gigs in his native Albuquerque, New Mexico. Since moving to New York in 2001, he has played with the likes of Greg Osby, Lee Konitz, Terence Blanchard, Jeff “Tain" Watts, David Sanchez, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, and many others

Joel Frahm, tenor, soporano saxophones; Dan Loomis, bass; Jared Schonig, drums; Tyler Blanton, vibes, compositions Brooklyn based vibraphonist and composer Tyler Blanton will lead his quartet in celebration of the release of his debut album “Botanic." On hand this evening will be the original cast from the album, featuring saxophonist extraordinaire Joel Frahm. Since moving to New York from San Francisco in 2007, Blanton has quickly come to recognition as a unique voice both as a composer and instrumentalist. The Dan Rufolo Trio's debut album, “Novelty," presents compositions in odd meters, free form improvisation, and striking harmonies, weaving a complex set of emotions. “Novelty" is thought provoking and invigorating. Their influences include the Keith Jarrett Trio, Terence Blanchard Quintet, Paul Motion Trio, and the various incarnations of Chick Corea's bands. The Dan Rufolo trio is always thinking forward while making sure to keep a grasp on the jazz tradition.
